About
Welcome to SPS by the Numbers, a place for open access to SPS focused data for families of students so that they can make data-driven choices for their families. We hope open and easy to use access to data will help us all focus on where we and others need to act about SPS issues.
History
This site was originally created in 2022 in response to SPS's attempt to change the bell-times because of a supposed inability to staff bus routes. A number of parents threw together a survey and gathered over a thousand responses showing an overwhelming preference to keep the existing bell-time structure, even amongst families who still did not have service. The survey data needed a place to be displayed and thus sps-by-the-numbers.com was born.
From there we have collected some other tools and data analyses for SPS issues. Recent additions include a transcript generator for SPS Board meetings, a Panorama tools and others. To hear about new additions, join our announcements list. (ADD HOW TO JOIN). For tips about how to use the site, visit our FAQ at the bottom of this page.
What's Next?
Our hope is this site will grow to be a repository for data-centric information on SPS. If you know of data, have created tools to help people explore and understand data, we would love your contributions. If you want to contribute ideas, posts, or just hang, join spsbythenumbers.slack.com using this invite link.
